In 2009, Nexval was founded by a group of seasoned executives with deep domain expertise in mortgage banking and outsourcing services. Today, with clients from across the globe and skilled employees on board, Nexval is revolutionizing business process management services and solutions. Nexval’s team of 700+ associates have extensive Mortgage and Banking Software Development, Software Integration, and Business Process Outsourcing expertise.
Problem Statement
- Nexval runs their mission-critical applications from their On-Premise Data Center which were facing several outages due to hardware issues, OS related issues, and also resource crunch due to lack of scalability and flexibility. The infrastructure required an overhaul to mitigate these issues.
- COVID-19 scenario forced their workforce to Work-From-Home and access these applications from remote locations. Business Continuity with ease of accessibility and adequate security was the pressing need.
- Nexval required a secure working environment for its employees for remote access. Migration of their entire workload to a reliable and scalable Cloud Platform and at the same time re-utilize some of the existing features like their ON-Prem Active Directory setup by integrating with the infrastructure hosted on the new platform. Secure connectivity with SSL integration and reliable backup to achieve near-zero data loss was also sought.
Solution Deployed by Workmates
- Workmates team audited the on-premises infra and created a migration plan with zero downtime. Suggested the highly secure and scalable AWS platform for one of their mission-critical application which had been developed on .NET and required MS-SQL Standard Edition as their database. The AWS IAAS was designed on the Well-Architected framework on the AWS Singapore region.
- AWS Workspaces was deployed for 51 users for accessing their corporate application from a secure environment from the confines of their homes. Since AWS Workspaces is available in Singapore Region; the IAAS environment was also created here for lower latency access.
- On-Premise AD setup is integrated by using the AWS Managed AD Connector, thereby enabling the same users, groups, and policies across both environments. IPsec tunnel between Nexval Kolkata office and AWS Singapore Region secures the AD communication.
- Enabling a proper backup policy using AMI & Snapshots and Native Database & Code Backups. All the Infra & DB backups are stored in S3. Backups & Recovery are automated using scripts.
- All monitoring is done using AWS CloudWatch and AWS CloudTrail is used for recording changes and the logs are kept for 90 days. AWS Systems Manager is used for patch updates and running a few commands on the AWS Workspaces.
